Dr. Gary J. Levin received his medical degree from Thomas Jefferson University in 1973, through a combined five year BSc/M.D. Program with Pennsylvania State University. He was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1978 after completing his residency training in Eye Surgery at Jefferson. Immediately thereafter, he opened his practice in Downingtown. His current hospital affiliations include Brandywine Hospital, where he had served as Chief of Ophthalmology, as well as Chester County Hospital, for two decades.
Dr. Steven K. Luminais earned his medical degree at Cornell University Medical College after graduating from Swarthmore College. He trained fully in Internal Medicine before taking his Ophthalmology residency at Temple University Hospital, where he became Chief Resident and won an award in eye surgery. Dr. Luminais has been active as an instructor on the teaching staff of Wills Eye Hospital since 1986. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1987, he is also on staff at Brandywine Hospital, Chester County Hospital, Paoli Memorial, Wills Eye and Temple University Hospitals. He is the Medical Director of the Vision One Laser & Surgery Center.
Kenneth E. Morgenstern, M.D. is the director of the Morgenstern Center for Orbital and Facial Plastic Surgery in Wayne, PA. In addition to Levin & Luminais Eye Associates in Thorndale, PA, he has offices in Flemington, NJ and Northfield, NJ.
Dr. Morgenstern is a Board Certified surgeon with sub-specialty training in Adult and Pediatric Oculoplastic Surgery and Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He is one of the most highly trained facial plastic surgeons in the country, as evidenced by his certification by the esteemed American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Morgenstern began his medical training in Philadelphia and furthered it as Chief Resident at West Virginia University and as a Fellow in Oculoplastics and Facial Cosmetic Surgery at Ohio State University.
Presently he is the Director of the Orbital and Oculoplastic Service at the Philadelphia Veterans Medical Center and is part of the fellowship teaching staff at the University of Pennsylvania and Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania. Dr. Morgenstern continues to do extensive research, writing and lecturing, both locally and nationally, on both reconstructive and cosmetic topics.

Carl Park, M.D. earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minor in Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his medical degree from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, MN. His internship year was spent at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA. Dr. Park completed an ophthalmology residency at the New England Eye Center, Tufts University Medical Center in Boston, MA. He also completed a two-year vitreoretinal surgical fellowship at the Duke University Eye Center in Durham, NC, one of the premier retinal specialty programs in the world.
Dr. Park is a board certified ophthalmologist; he is on staff at Wills Eye, Thomas Jefferson, St. Francis Hospital Wilmington DE, Virtua West Jersey Hospital and Bryn Mawr Hospital. Among his accomplishment, Dr. Park, has authored numerous publications, most recently two articles in the American Journal of Ophthalmology (September and November 2003) covering the topics of central retinal vein occlusion and macular translocation surgery. He is senior member of the Retinal Service at Wills Eye Hospital.
Jason Hsu, MD earned his Bachelor of Science and Engineering degree from Princeton University and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute, and vitreorentinal surgical fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital. A board certified ophthalmologist, he is on staff at Wills Eye, Thomas Jefferson, St. Francis Virtua and Bryn Mawr Hospitals. Dr. Hsu serves as Clinical Instructor at Thomas Jefferson University and Wills Eye Hospital. He is actively doing research on vitreoretinal surgical techniques and has published multiple articles on retinal vascular and inflammatory diseases.
A 1988 graduate with honors of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Suzanne Smith chose to do an optional one-year residency in ocular disease at the Lebanon VA Medical Center in Lebanon, PA. Her time since then was spent in two private practices in the Reading area where she specialized in comprehensive eye exams on children and adults.
Dr. Smith received the Bausch and Lomb Excellence in Academic Achievement Award, the Herbert L. Moss Scholarship and an Alumni Scholarship while at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She is a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Societies.
Dr. Smith has been affiliated with Levin & Luminais Eye Associates since 1997. During her tenure here, she has specialized in contact lens fitting, specifically for those patients who require gas permeable contacts, bifocal contacts and contact lenses for astigmatism.
Dr. Susan is a 1999 graduate with honors of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Before joining the practice in 2000, he had been in private practice in Lancaster County where he gained valuable experience in comprehensive eye exams and contact lens evaluations on a diverse population. In addition to general optometry, Dr. Susan specializes in comprehensive low vision evaluations for the visually impaired.
While at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. Susan received the Florence and Martin Hafter Scholarship, the William F. Decter Memorial Scholarship, the E.F. Wildermuth Memorial Scholarship, the Alumni Association Honorable Mention for Academic Excellence and the Clinical Excellence Citation for Low Vision. He is a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.
